The Northwest/Jackson
Soccer League is a fall soccer league open to children starting from age
five through adults. The league strives to provide an environment
in which soccer can be played with the emphasis on fun, instruction, and
recreation rather than strict competition.
No standings are kept and
there are no league-sponsored awards for teams or individuals at the
completion of the season. The true winners are those who have
improved their individual skills and made new friends during the season.
The NJSL has grown tremendously since it's inception in
1980 and provides teams for about 1100 players. The success of the league
mirrors the efforts of hundreds of VOLUNTEERS who have donated time and
resources to provide a recreational and social opportunity for the people in the
local communities.
The logistics of gathering registrations, forming teams, scheduling practice and game
fields, recruiting coaches, scheduling referees, ordering and distributing equipment, and
getting the fields in shape can be awesome. In fact it is a year round job. We hope many
more adults from each participant's family can find the time to volunteer.
